How to Check if a Cookie Run Invite Shop Actually Plays
Last verified:
If you are about to hire a shop to run the Cookie Run Classic invite-friends event (or you already did and want to know whether you got the real thing), this guide shows you how to check it yourself, entirely from inside your own game. You do not have to take any shop's word for it, including ours.
We wrote this checklist to be used on every shop. If you hire us, run these checks; if anything does not line up, message us straight away.
Why real work cannot finish in minutes
The event only counts an invited account once it reaches level 5. Played normally with the starter cookie, that takes roughly 8 runs per account.
Across 29 accounts that is 232 runs somebody has to actually play.
So when a shop says it will be finished in a couple of minutes, it did not play. It used another route.
The two shortcuts fast shops take
1. Editing the save file: The local data is modified so the level jumps instantly, with zero runs played. The level shows 5 within seconds, but the accumulated score is almost nothing, because nothing was played.
2. Using an assist program: One run is stretched to clear several levels at once. The level arrives fast, but the score comes out unnaturally high (higher than a starter cookie can produce).
Both leave traces in the account data, and you can spot them from your own game.
The 6-point checklist you can run yourself
1. Check the accumulated score in your friend list (the strongest signal)
How: open the game → friend list → tap the profile of an account that invited you → read its best/accumulated score.
| What you see | What it means |
|---|---|
| Around one million | ✅ Consistent with 8 real runs on a starter cookie |
| Near zero, yet level 5 | 🚩 Reached level 5 without playing (save-file edit) |
| Unnaturally high | 🚩 Assist program: a starter cookie cannot score that |
This point is the most reliable, because a score is the one value that is hard to fake plausibly: it comes out either far too low or far too high.
2. Look at the naming pattern of the accounts
| What you see | What it means |
|---|---|
| Names that differ naturally | ✅ Set by people |
| Same pattern with a running number | 🚩 Generated in bulk |
| Every account left on the game's default name | 🚩 Nobody played them |
| Identical-looking random strings | 🚩 Generated automatically |
3. Compare level against score
Someone who genuinely reached level 5 has a score consistent with the number of runs played. High level with a tiny score, or a big score after only a run or two, does not add up.
4. Look at how long the work took
| Turnaround | Read |
|---|---|
| A few minutes | 🚩 Impossible for 232 runs |
| Hours, moving through a queue | ✅ Consistent with hand-played work |
5. Ask whether the shop wants your password
This job never needs access to your account: the invite link alone is enough. If a shop asks for your ID and password for this, ask why.
6. Ask whether you can follow the progress
A shop doing the work has nothing to hide and will let you watch the count move. "It's done, trust me," with nothing to check, is not evidence.
Side-by-side summary
| Signal | 🚩 Save-file edit | 🚩 Assist program | ✅ Really played |
|---|---|---|---|
| Turnaround | Seconds to minutes | A few minutes | A real queue |
| Runs played | 0 | 1-2 | 8 per account |
| Accumulated score | Near zero | Unnaturally high | Around one million |
| Account names | Usually a batch | Usually a batch | Naturally different |
| Cookie used | Never played | Usually not the starter | Starter cookie |
| Risk of a later rollback | High | High | None |
If the checks say you were cheated
| Do | Don't |
|---|---|
| Screenshot everything (profile, score, chat, payment slip) | Pay more because they promise to fix it |
| Message the shop first and ask them to explain | Hand over your password "so they can fix it" |
| If that fails, report through the appropriate channel | Post accusations with no evidence (which carries its own legal risk) |
| Warn others with facts and screenshots | Make vague claims |
⚖️ This article describes technical signals only. It does not name or accuse any specific shop, and these observations are indicators rather than proof. Ask the shop directly before drawing conclusions.
FAQ
What score counts as normal?
Playing 8 normal runs with the starter cookie to level 5 lands the score around one million. Far below or wildly above that is worth questioning.
Where do I see the score of an account that invited me?
Open the game, go to the friend list, tap that account's profile, and read its best score.
If a shop uses bots but the count completes, is that a problem?
The count may complete that day, but unnatural data can be reviewed later, and counts or rewards can be reversed.
Can I just do it myself?
Yes. Use our free how-to guide and the free code board (no payment needed).
You can do it yourself for free
Read the step-by-step invite guide, or post your code on our free code-exchange board and let other players tap it. Neither costs anything.
Or let us do it
We play 8 real runs per account on the starter cookie, to level 5, on every account. No password, no save-file tricks. Happy for you to run every check in this guide on our work (see Manual vs Bot, pocket guide).
